Exploiting its innovations in machine learning and cloud computing, Microsoft has established a new healthcare division devoted to “transforming healthcare” as we know it today.
To announce its launch, Microsoft has hired Iain Buchan to lead the healthcare research division.
Formerly a clinical professor of public health informatics at the University of Manchester, Mr. Buchan has 25 years of data science research in clinical and academic settings.
Mr. Buchan said the team’s research could include developing predictive analytic tools and using AI to target interventions.
Future generations are sure to look back on the significant gains Microsoft’s research team will have made in healthcare science over the next few years.
