Alexa. Siri. Cortana. Even Marcus.
The future is now. We are living in a world where technology is doing everything for us, and all we have to do is to voice command them.
It is the dawn of virtual assistant, the zeitgeist of artificial intelligence, and the age where robots would create more jobs than they would eradicate by 2020.
As a millennial, I can say that I’ve used virtual assistants like it’s second nature.
“Hey Siri, what time is it?”
“Alexa, play Spotify.”
And my latest favorite command is “Cortana, find me 30 minutes next week for a Skype meeting.”
Long gone the pain of sifting through everyone’s calendars to compare and combine, only to have someone emailing you back saying you missed them.
Cortana will do all of that for you, whether you have 2 people in the meeting or 200. She will even send reminder emails when your attendees fail to respond!
To sign up for beta testing Cortana’s feature, simply click here. After you sign up, cc her (Cortana@calendar.help) in emails you’d want her to schedule meetings, and trigger her by mentioning her name in those emails. Ask her to schedule meetings like you would with any human assistant (i.e. using natural language). Voila, your meeting is taken care of. Cortana will be on her way to email and confirm with your attendees.
Sounds amazing? Even better: She works with Google Calendar too.
