1:40 PM - 2:25 PM | Privacy Panel: An in-depth look into upcoming compliance trends

  • Ed Chang | Senior I.S. Operations Manager, Phibro – Moderator
  • Thomas Eng | Head of U.S. Privacy Compliance, Scotiabank – Panelist
  • Mary Grieco | Intellectual Property Partner, Olshan Law – Panelist
  • Joseph Tso | Chief Information Security Officer, Scotiabank – Panelist

Privacy is a necessary element of any business nowadays. With the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in full effect globally, other countries are taking up their own policies to ensure individuals have a right to control their data. For example, The NYS Financial Services (DFS) was issued last year in New York and other privacy laws being passed this year in the state alone. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) goes into effect at the beginning of 2020 and more are planned to follow. These emerging and growing requirements keep all organizations on their toes.

Not being compliant can result in heavy fines, customer distress, and insecure business plan. This panel will highlight why privacy is important in our digital age, how organizations can stay ahead of the privacy curve while not disturbing day-to-day activity, and upcoming compliance acts that attendees should take note in.

2:25 PM - 2:45 PM | Coffee Break
2:45 PM - 3:30 PM | Security Awareness Panel: The importance of education and training

According to the Cyber Risk Culture Survey released by Willis Tower Watson, upwards of 90% of all successful corporate cyberattacks in 2017 could be attributed back to employee error. Whether it be driven by malicious intent, reckless employee practices, or lack of knowledge; human error is causing organizations to be vulnerable to a plethora of cyber threats.

Verizon’s Breach Investigations report noted in 2018, 92% of malware was delivered by email. And in 2017, spear-phishing emails were the most widely used infection vector. Educating your employees to be alert and aware of suspicious emails and messages is your best course of defense.

In this in-depth panel, hear from leading experts on why security awareness training should be a part of every business plan, how to go about educating your employees, and case studies where businesses went wrong.

3:30 PM - 4:15 PM | Beyond the Basics Panel: Current threat ecosystem and prevention techniques

  • Steve Torino | Engineer, CI Security – Moderator
  • Dr. Eric Cole | Founder & CEO, Secure Anchor Consulting – Panelist
  • Eric Humbert | Supervising Special Agent, U.S. Secret Service – Panelist

Risk is inevitable, especially in such a technologically changing world. No one, and no organization (or country) is 100% untouchable to cyber threats. However, there are options to protect yourself as much as possible; whether it be through prevention or cutting down response time.

But what happens after an attack? Join our panelists as they talk you through the current threats that are affecting everyone, what law enforcement agencies do behind the scenes and the technologies that can help combat these risks.

4:15 PM - 5:00 PM | Dedicated Expo Floor Time & Breakout Sessions
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM | Happy Hour & Raffle
